How to Get Loot in Roblox Oregon Trail: Crates, Ghost Towns and Hunting

Where to find loot in a Roblox Oregon Trail run: supply crates on the trail, loose gear in ghost towns, and meat and parts from hunted animals.

Loot in a Roblox Oregon Trail run comes from sources you pass anyway: supply crates on the trail, loose gear in ghost towns, and the animals your party hunts down. Here's where each one turns up, what it yields, and what to watch out for.

Open the crates you find along the trail

Supply crates and boxes appear in the environment as you travel. Get your character over to one and open it — its contents transfer straight into the party's inventory, so an open helps the whole wagon. Crates opened during the run this guide draws on produced medicine and a spare wheel, exactly the kind of gear a wagon run goes through.

The open prompt isn't always obvious — one player was still asking "What do I open this thing at?" just before the crate yielded medicine.

Sweep ghost towns for free ground loot

Ghost towns are free-stuff stops on the route: loot lies on the ground, and you just walk up and take it. One visit turned up a spare wheel, medicine, and a backpack one player kept ("kind of fits my style, I guess"), plus what the group called "all kinds of goodies."

The catch: bandits were in that same town, so grabbing loot there is not risk-free — keep your head up while you sweep. If the hostile side of towns keeps catching you out, our bandits guide covers what to do about them.

Bring down animals for meat and parts

Animals are the loot source you make yourself. The rule is simple: the animal goes down first, and its parts become available afterwards.

  • Bear — downing one left the hunter holding parts he planned to sell.
  • Ox and horse — killed and butchered for meat that then needs cooking.

Meat needs to be cooked before anyone eats it, so don't count a kill as food until it's actually prepared.

What you'll actually be collecting

Across one casual multiplayer run, the loot that genuinely ended up in party hands was medicine, meat, a spare wheel, sellable bear parts and a backpack. Town stops can also pay out in other ways: after a church visit where the priest revived a dead party member, the player found himself holding money and medicine. Treat town events as a possible bonus, not a loot route you can repeat on demand.
